CrimeReports maps crime data from more than 1,000 participating law enforcement agencies. This allows you to search by region, address, zip code, or law enforcement agency to see a map with icons identifying recent police activity. At this time, only the Moore Police Department reports data, but hopefully more OKC metro departments will participate. Crimereports is free to use.
AreaVibes helps you find the best place in central Oklahoma to live based on the factors you deem important. Just enter the city, area or neighborhood in the AreaVibes search box and it will instantly plot the location on a map and provides you with a “livability score” between 1 and 100. It then ranks the nearby areas according to their scores, and compares them to national averages.
FamilyWatchdog maps the addresses of area sex offenders in surrounding neighborhoods. Type a location or address in the search box and it will generate map showing the pinpoint locations of all registered sex offenders nearby. You can click on the icon and see pictures and read the charges. You can sign up to be alerted when a registered sex offender moves into your area. FamilyWatchdog is a free service.
SpotCrime maps crimes in your area and delivers crime alerts via email, Twitter and several other platforms. It works by gathering crime data from police departments, news reports, and user tips to plot crimes. These crimes are represented by icons that makes it easier to see what type of crimes have been committed in your neighborhood. You can click on the icon to see detailed information about the crime.
