Lots of things are happening in Edmond. City Manager Larry Stevens updates the City Council on several ongoing projects.
- The holiday ice rink at Mitch Park was up 30% from 2014 to over 8,000 people visiting the rink in 2015. In addition over 600 tickets were given away to underprivileged families
- The widening of Covell just west of I-35 is proceeding in the planning stages. It just passed an environmental approval and next up is design and utility line relocation work. This plan will widen Covell from I-35 through Sooner and just east of Sooner Road. Total cost of the project is estimated at $10 million, with ODOT picking up 50% of that cost.
- Sales tax collection are up over 6% from February 2014, continuing a trend of increases in revenue from local sales.
