July is always a busy month in Edmond, kicked off with the annual July 4th Parade downtown. As one of the largest parades in Oklahoma, Libertyfest Parade features floats, kids, clowns, and lots of fun for the entire family. The parade starts at 9 am but get there early – over 50,000 spectators line the streets to see the action!
Summer camps are available at Edmond Parks and Recreation department. Edmond kids can attend camps at Mitch Park on computers, science, arts, writing, and sports. The Edmond Summer Parks Activity Guide lists all the fun camps that kids can attend.
The Farmer’s Market in downtown Edmond is available Saturday and in Mitch Park on Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm. You can find fresh fruit and vegetables for your family, sold by local farmers.
July 8 your family can watch Night at the Museum at Stephenson Park just southeast of downtown Edmond. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and have some fun.
Every Thursday evening during the summer you can hear local bands at Hafer Park’s Concert in the Park series. The music starts at 7 pm. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy some great local bands.
